The District Nurses welcome top Tasmanian health professional as new CEO

The District Nurses are delighted to announce the appointment of Sally Faulkner as new Chief Executive Officer.

With 25 years’ experience in senior nursing management positions backed up by more than 15 years as a practicing Registered Nurse, Ms Faulkner joins The District Nurses from St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital in Victoria, where she held senior management positions since 2010.

Prior to moving to Victoria, Ms Faulkner spent more than a decade in senior management at Calvary Health Care Tasmania and has also undertaken similar roles in the north-west giving her a strong appreciation of the subtleties of the Tasmanian health system.

Chair of The District Nurses, Gayle Johnston said the organisation was extremely grateful to be able to secure the services of such a highly experienced CEO and welcomes Ms Faulkner back to Tasmania.

“Sally’s skillset and experience was exactly what we were looking for when we set out to fill the CEO position,” Ms Johnston said.

“Through her nursing management experience in both Tasmania and Victoria, Sally has successfully provided leadership, strategic direction and operational management to a number of organisations and has a track record of ensuring the highest quality of care and service to patients.”

The District Nurses is Australia’s second oldest nursing services and was established in 1896, celebrating its’ Double Diamond Jubilee in 2016. It currently employs some 140 staff delivering in-home services to older Tasmanians, a community clinic as well as caring for under 65s and people with disabilities.
